Rectangular headlamp questions
While recommissioning my K1 Sport I'm considering swapping the after-market round headlamp for the rectangular type it had when new. I've seen a few used ones online but does anybody know: 1. Are the ones fitted to our off-roaders the same unit? (Could I also consider a Kanguro unit?) 2. Are they RH...

I think I also have some packaging from old sets that may help with ref.numbers.
Cheers,
Dom

Re: I'm rich, but not in a good way
Hi there,
just a random question that springs to mind: have you checked they are the correct carbs for the bike?
I hope you don't have to go the whole wide world for a solution!
Cheers, Dom

Re: Alternative paint schemes
Thanks Jenny,
that's the sort of thing I'm after. I may do some mock-ups with washable paints for a larf.
Funnily enough, almost none of the schemes I've seen seem to have a red frame but I do and that makes a difference.
Keep 'em coming!
Cheers,
DD

Re: Clutch lever fulcrum
Thanks, both of you.
Mine actually already is the 26mm version but since regaining the bike there are some rerouting and lubrication things I need to do. It was not really maintained in my absence. Things like that will give me a chance to get to know it again.

Clutch lever fulcrum
Hi there, I have a generic Domino clutch lever/perch fitted. I also have Tarozzi clip-on risers which means my cable routing is somewhat compromised by the instruments. The action is "firm" but I'm used to it, however, I have just seen that two different fulcrum lengths are offered by Toma...

Alternative paint schemes
Hi All, my tank has been resprayed and in my ownership it has never had the familiar black/gold stripes that continue from the sidepanels. I'm a fan of the earlier designs, including the black-panel where the knees go, also the white background logos from that era with the stacked MM and gold wings....

Meet the new bike, same as the old bike.
Good day, ciao, etc., to you fellow Morinisti. Avid forum readers may remember this episode in which my K1 suffered a great indignity. Or not. https://www.morini-riders-club.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=7232 There were many comments, some helpful and others equalling "it's only a flesh wou...

Re: Morini useage
When I owned my K1 it absolutely was my commuter bike. Most days a week, about 20kms each trip, sometimes more. It was something of a feat, here in NZ without specific parts availability but you learn what fits from other Italian bikes when needed. I also have no garage so any work had to be pre-pla...

Re: Engine cover finish
I had mine done in random satin and it looked great.
There's no sense in labouring over any original finishes on these bikes as they vary far too much.

Re: New 3 1/2 at Eicma show
Well, that is quite amazing, I must say. Modern enough, but not as divisively styled nor angular as the worst offenders. Design-wise, it seems to share DNA with that particular vintage Sport behind it, but my old K1 would look different again. I'd say, congratulations and it could have gone so wrong.

They're used on so many of bikes, just widen your search terms and you'll find some.

Also, please note there are two very different calipers depending on your bike's year.
