Replacement regulator / rectifier
Can anyone recommend a suitable replacement, modern regulator / rectifier unit please? I have fitted an Electrex World unit but I am not convinced that it is doing it's job correctly or that I have the correct unit. The instructions say to not connect the red wire from the stator to anything if ther...

350 or 500 e-start stator wanted
I am looking for an alternator from a e-start 350 or 500/501 (from the year 1979 onward).
Alternatively I might be able to make use of a Kokusan stator and rotor.
If anyone is willing to part with something like this then please get back to me.
Thanks
Chris

Re: 500 Sport - Will not start when hot....
Hi Roy
I would be interested to know the answer to this problem because I have exactly the same issue with my Benelli sei.
Fine when cold but will not start when hot.
When I get around to looking at the problem the first things I will check out are the pick-ups and then the coils.

Alternator upgrade?
Hi All So I have converted the electrics on my mk1 camel to 12volts and fitted a Sachse ignition system. However, it is clear that the alternator is not powerful enough to power the ignition system and all the lights at the same time! It is fine for daytime riding but I am afraid that I will run out...

Re: Mki Restoration Complete
Thanks yes I am very pleased with it. Still a few minor issues to sort. This bike does have a steel tank. As far as I understand it, there was a period in the UK where fibreglass tanks were banned. The steel tanks were made locally (in the UK I think) but there does not seem to be much information a...

Re: Mki Restoration Complete
No the engine should be totally black. In my defence, someone had already painted the engine black and it was just easier and quicker to leave it as it was. I just wanted it up and running for this summer. I have no doubt that I will be retuning it to its correct colour at some point in the future. ...

Chain Tension
HI all Can anyone tell me how to test the chain tension on a Mk1 Camel (or any other of the off road bikes for that matter). i.e. How much slack? on the centre stand or with someone sat on the bike? Where in the chain run to test the slack? Also, what am i supposed to do with the chain guide that is...

Re: Mk1 Sahara / Camel wanted
Yes thanks ever so much for the lead.
The bike was exactly what I was looking for and is pretty much complete.
At the moment the frame is away at the powder coaters and I am working hard on all the other bits.
I will post a picture on here once it is complete.
Once again, many thanks

Re: Mk1 Sahara / Camel wanted
Hi MickeyMoto
Thanks for that. There seems to have been a rash of later (monoshock) 350s on ebay lately. But for me it's got to be the mk1 500.

Mk1 Sahara / Camel wanted
Current none- member looking for an early twin shock 500cc sahara. Any condition considered. Would prefer a project but would also consider a complete running bike. I have a feeling these might be like hens teeth but any help in sourcing such a bike would be appreciated. Thanks in anticipation Chris...
