Re: High mileage
Nice, I bid on it but was a bit worried by the standard of the brake and gear lever mod and the aerospace type engineering lol. Do you like it? What the Gear lever mod that was held in place with a masonry nail that I took out with my finger nails?........ That's the one Mike....the pin that had be...

Re: GP starting problem
OilBurnerBike,
A bit late on here but........did you get this fixed? If so, what was it as I was going to offer up 'starter motor brushes coming to the end of their life'.

G'day BP
...just on here after too long and seen your solution...top job indeed. These forums are certainly powerful tools.....and I'm relieved, to a point, that not only I have had to scuffle with the breakage of a £2 item!!

Re: High(er) Mileage GPs?
G'day Painter, A very very delayed reply to the fork question. Speaking with Glynn tonight got me on here again...time certainly flies!! Got KTM forks on in 2019 I think, some machining of spacers and sleeves reqd but they improved the front substantially....as a proper set of decent forks would do....

Re: High mileage
Good day to all on this thread, I've just had a good chat with Glynn, re; my GP for sale. I omitted to mention in my chat with Glynn that I assessed timing chain set replacement time by what I found in the oil strainer at oil change intervals. At 42k miles there were very small particles in the stra...

Re: High(er) Mileage GPs?
Hi Steve, Sorry about the delayed comeback, not had much time recently but in answer to you................the fork conversion is still not done, I'll speak about it if we can get a meet sorted this year sometime? Be good to have a chat. The remap was a revelation.....safer running (random stalling ...

Re: GP front forks
Hi, A little belated as don't get on too often these days. I've had an 09 GP from new, 52k miles now and gets better with age!! A few years ago I took my Mazzo forks to KTech in Leicestershire for a rework ...............and they gave them back saying not worth bothering with as they were THE MOST b...

Broken JG Speedfit QR Fuel Connection Issues
Hi All, Just a general note on this topic..... if there are any of us that have suffered/are suffering a broken JG Speedfit fuel connection at the tank due to a lack of care (I did, tank fell off bike while running it up post service....doh!!) I have a fix with a machined steel threaded insert. The ...

Re: Moto Morini Granpassso 2008 for sale
Hello Miguel, I don't come on the board very often but hope you got what you wanted for the GP. They are a fine machine when you've had the 'conversion' treatment of owning an Italian :D After reading your post I wondered why the dealer would remove the engine to change the timing chains as they are...

Re: High(er) Mileage GPs?
Sorry chaps, sent the last mail without finishing it........... With regard to de-catting ...........I inadvertently put a gallon of diesel in my Morini about 10 months ago. God only knows why but the absent mind is a dangerous thing! The story is painful but in a nutshell, the bike ran a little sub...

Re: High(er) Mileage GPs?
Hi rrey, Thanks for offering your experiences. I'll get some photos together and get them uploaded. With the footrest pos'n change.....I basically drilled through the alloy mounting plates and machined some mounting bushes for the footrest location bolts with an angle on them to mate them to the mou...

High(er) Mileage GPs?
Hi All, This post is just an inquiry really as I'm intrigued to know of any higher mileage GP's that are out there and used regularly. I have an 09 bike, had it from new and now has 41k miles on it. Just for general info.....a bit of history; Up to now, I've had no mechanical traumas and which surpr...

Re: Just had BSD remap my GP
Hi oilburnerbike, Just seen this and can relate to your woes. BSD mapped mine 5 years ago, put in a corsaro map and 128 came out the back wheel. All the aggro I had from new in 2009 was really disappointing but the chaps at BSD dumped the lambda and dropped the map in and hey presto a completely dif...
