NIce job Robert!!
Land Speed Racing takes so much work up front for such an incredibly brief race time. And totally at the mercy of the weather and wind.

Re: Dart 350 for Bonneville Land Speed Racing
Looking through this thread I just noticed that I never posted a link to the 6 minute video that a friend of mine made of our runs at BUB2012. It was tough photographing but it includes his special effects and slo-motion as well. Included are the 2 1954 BMW R25/3s that got records for Chicago Vintag...

Re: Dart 350 for Bonneville Land Speed Racing
Well, here I go again!! I leave next week for the BUB2013 event for Land Speed Racing at the Bonneville Salt Flats in Utah USA. I have again entered my 1990 Morini Dart 350 but this time in the Altered 350cc pushrod gas class. But it no longer looks like a Dart. All the body work is gone except the ...

Re: replacement brake disc
Another technique would be to bead blast the entire disc then paint the nonbraking surfaces. The bead blasting is a recommended way of removing the glazing from prior pads anyway. It also works great at cleaning up the rough surface areas. I just did this to my Dart 350 after the Bonneville salt fla...

Re: timing belts alternate source usa
Mcmaster Carr are stupid enough to not let me browse items without registering on their site. So, no comment on the belt and although it's unlikely I'd ever buy anything from them, they're now on my black list. Paul, although I respect your opinion and I understand your frustration on not being abl...

Re: Racing Megaphones on the LSR Superchaged K2
Robert,
That bike is looking great! I wish I could be there to hear it start up (with suitable hearing protection of course). Do you have a target date for its first event at El Mirage? Will you be running a front fender?

Re: Dart 350 for Bonneville Land Speed Racing
Nick, Yes my experience so far shows that the fairings add nothing. The engine was getting stronger and stronger but at Bonneville it is at over 4000 ft elevation and usually hot, running in 88-100 F deg range but very low humidity. So during most of this meet the adjusted density altitude was aroun...

Re: Dart 350 for Bonneville Land Speed Racing
Hey guys, I am now over half way home on the 2100 mile one way drive from Bonneville salt flats. What a week!! Morini Dart 350 was flawless. Electric start easy everytime. It is supposed to be Sun-Thurs racing after tech inspection on Saturday. Made it through tech without a problem. I ran it first ...

Re: Dart 350 for Bonneville Land Speed Racing
Well, my Morini Dart 350 is now ready for the Bonneville Salt Flats. I still need to figure out video camera mounts but the bike is ready. http://img11.imageshack.us/img11/3839/dsc03108y.jpg http://img88.imageshack.us/img88/8956/dsc03109yr.jpg As you can see I finished my paint job and graphics. Re: Dart 350 for Bonneville Land Speed Racing
Robert, I was successful on the sprockets. Here is the key info- 1990 Morini Dart 350- Inner Hub cutout ID- 110mm 6 bolt pattern, 8mm bolts bolt circle diameter- 125mm Chain size- 520 Note that it uses a narrower 520 chain than the 3 1/2 and also a 6 bolt pattern rather than a 5 bolt. I have used Re...

Re: Factory 350 Road Racers
Considering the Morini nearly beat the mighty Honda to the world championship (lost because of 'problems' in Japan?) then 140mph is not beyond the realms of probability. Don't forget that Morini had top riders, so the engineering would have to have been good. A certain Agostini started his GP caree...

Re: Dart 350 for Bonneville Land Speed Racing
Nick- Yes at Ohio Mile the only thing that matters is the last 132ft between the timing lights. Everything before that is, as they say, "interesting". Tom- Thanks for the parts offers. You are sucked further into this project too! Emails have been exchanged. Robert- I was born in North Hol...
