Cam belt size
Has anyone fitted a size A belt on a B sprocket as I have fitted a new B belt (continental) and found it as slack or worse than the original that had been on the bike from New (25k kilometers). I was told at NLM you can fit a A on B and a B on a C. But not an A on C. Has anyone been up this road ? ....

Dave,
If you have a B pinion, you may have to try another supplier if the generic belt from Conti is too slack.
Its likely that you got a generic belt on the long end of the distribution of lengths.
Usually we buy a few generic belts and select the best fit as they are pretty cheap different people have their favourite belt supplier and brand.
You could ask George Lane, advert in ATG, he buys in larger quantity and can supply a shorter than nominal B belt for you.

Re: Cam belt size
Mark,
Many Thanks for your reply, I'm a bit disappointed that a new "B " belt " Continental " made from a reputable Company £29 + VAT + p&p = £48 is a bit of ripoff, having to take a chance that the next one could possibly made on the end of the line as you mentioned is not an option. I paid a reasonable
price for this belt thinking that it would not be 2nd grade , However Hopefully I can get a refund on this belt and will have to consider my options, perhaps return to Honda ? Lol ..,as I'm not made of money, thankyou again Mark for your advice and interest ,

I get my belts from
https://uk.rs-online.com/web/p/timing-b ... 49793?gb=s
I have two bikes, on B and one C, the latter can be noisy ( if too tight) so a bit of pot luck.
