TreSette centre stand

Post by michaelt »

Managed to break my centre stand. Old age and excessive force on kick start when she refused to start. Anyway the original crossmember was pretty had it. So had it beautifully repaired with new stainless but they welded it parallel with the arms. This means if the pivots are lined up correctly it fouls the centre tube and stop. If the stop is lined up correctly then the pivots are out of line ( Photo 2). So by my calcs the drawing shows how the crossmember needs to be arranged to make it work. But the member was definitely not at 90 degrees. I think it was about 50 degrees. Can anyone check their stand and see if I am about right?

Tried Alex Luzzi for a replacement stand but no luck.
