kanguro carb sleeves

Post by tried-them-all »

My X1 kanguro has a black plastic sleeve (reducer?) in the carb on the manifold rubber side, as shown in the parts book - do I leave them in or take them out? What effect do they have on performance?

tnx

Leave them in! They are to make the inside diameter equal from the carb throat to the inlet port and it's steel tube adaptor. The reason it's needed is because the same carb can be used on engines where the carb is slipped over a male inlet stub/manifold. Optional mounting arrangements!

yep, that's what they look like, although they are acting as reducers - a clean up is needed to remove some sprags.
