Just had a chance to read it-excellent! I wouldn't be surprised if you get a message from the ATG editor asking to publish it!

And no, I'm still not jealous. I'll have to remain content with lanes about 2km long if lucky and separated by 8 more kms of tarmac.

Ha Ha! I'd love that but I'd probably need a month to acclimatise to the weather and even more the the sheer scale of things. And of course the offer is still open to come here and we'll see if we can get you over to the Isle of Man. (with a suitable bike loaned of course)

Just did a 550 km round trip this weekend. Spent the night in a old country pub with about 40 old bikers. Yearly event. I did it last year as well and was the start of my front exhaust thread fail.
It is still not 100% right but thats another story. Bike ran strong. No dirt this time I was on a tight time frame. I could have ridden mostly dirt there and back. Perhaps next year.
Had a bad dose of asthma this weekend. I have no idea why ?? !!

Went on a 500 km ride over the weekend. The pipe is the Perth to Kalgoorlie pipeline. Runs for 600 kms to get water to the gold mining town. Amazing engineering feat for it`s day.
Rode through beautiful Wandoo forrest. Wandoo is fantastically hard wood. I made a mallet head out of it at trade school. Still have it.
Wildflowers are starting to flower all over the forest.
Bike is running great.
Cheers.

Im posting a link to a video if anyone is interested in seeing some real outback Australia covered on motorcycle.
It`s taken by a guy I have ridden with a few years ago when I had my KTM 990 Adventure. At that time I went on a Desert Raid run. It was in the West Australian desert.
This vid is taken further north to Mt Augustas where I recently tried to get to on my Camel. I just fell short of getting there.
In this vid it shows just how things can go wrong and how its not a bad thing to know your limits. Watch to the end, its interesting !

Hi Ross,

Just wanted to say thank you for the pictures and your updates on the forum. They are magnificent and it is great to see a camel being used properly.

Keep ‘em coming,
Tom

Well my swingarm needed attention. After getting the wrong spindle from Mdina (they sent a 250), I decided to look at using a poly bush set up with my spindle.
A guy I know has a small lathe and made some bushes from the poly I provided. Spindle did not need turning down, just a bit of fine wet and dry to clean it up (lucky !)
About to install soon.
Will report back.
Cheers.

Update.
Been a while. I have had ongoing issues with the front head exhaust thread. The 'fix' kept backing out. So I scored a good used head from the 'States' and got some new valves (there is a Mdina story here) and am in the process of installing fresh head.
Mdina sent one new, and one very second hand valve to me via post. An email explaining said muk up and no apology , another 4 weeks wait for postage. Grrrrrr
Bushes in the swingarm worked out great.
