spare stator

Post by elektrobank »

hi all!

As usual i love to have some spares for my 501 camel and also for my cars...

at the moment i have the possibility to buy i spare stator from a 350 engine, this stator has 4 wires, white, green, red and yellow but i don't know if it is from a 3 e 1/2 or kanguro

will be compatible with my "electronics"?
will a 350 stator destroy the camel transducer?
will engine performance be reduced?
and lastly... is a 12 volt stator?

thanks to all

Hi,

It sounds like a Kanguro 6v/12v stator, because of the single yellow and red wire. If your 501 engine does not use the Kouskan ignition system and has the conventional ducati electronics transducers then the ignition will be compatible. You can quite simply convert these to 12v working. Check the ignition coil via the green wire is a good resistance ie around 250 ohms. The stator should not affect engine performance. However it would be advisable to remove your flywheel and check your current stator, they should look similar.
