Hi,
That's a really good job! Very neat finish.
May I ask what you used to paint the cases with?

Thanks
Mark

Hi Mark,
This time I have tried Auto Extreme stain black rattle can which claims to be petrol resistant, will have to see. I used a high temp paint PJ1 on my Kanguro rebuild which melted at the first spill of fuel.

Yes that is a good repair-it's hard to hide that sort of work well. Did you notice any warping of the casing after the welding? I'm asking as the casing on my Camel has been welded and it is sometimes awkward to get it seated on the two dowels. I suppose it would need to be very badly distorted before the starter operation begins to suffer. i.e. when the shoes are not properly aligned with the flywheel drum?

The top dowel hole was just slightly tighter than before but not really a problem.
