sidecovers

Post by hombre »

Hi all,
Does anyone know if the lefthand-sidecover from a regular 350 or 500 engine will fit on an 501 Excalibur motor, the latest model with Kokusanelectrics? The last one has the lump at the front for the startermotor, but the only thing that changes are the clutch parts right?

hi,
yes the engine covers are interchangeable, but you will lose the electric start drive/sprag clutch on the later motor.

Ok, I am used to kickstarting so that's no problem. Thanks!

With a set of custom engine plates, you can get the front mounted starter into a pre kinked downtube frame.

I am going to fit it into a 2nd series Camel which I want to keep as light as possible so there's no need for a startermotor. I was thinking of using the motor for a Caferacer but with today's traffic and mainly speedbumps and other speedreducing measures I reckon an off-roadbike is much more fun.
