I am looking for a NEW unused atomiser Dellorto 260U for a VHB 24 carburettor.
They are about as rare as hens teeth but if anyone has one I am interested.

I realise you are seeking a new and unused atomiser so this might not suit; nonetheless there are 7 used VHBZ25 carbs in stock at mdina currently and perhaps at least one of these might be in very good condition. https://www.mdinaitalia.co.uk/M340124U.html

Why do you want/need a brand new one?

Hello Julian,

sorry for late reply - I have replaced all the jets in my VHB carb except for the emulsifier which appears to be no longer available anywhere in the universe.
I have been informed that they do in fact wear which can effect mixture and acceleration I have the original from the bike and another one I picked up locally and ordered the nearest that Mdina had left in stock, so its going to be a bit of trial and error this Spring to see if I can get the mixture right. The bike is not stock in regard of inlet and exhaust but I will dial it all in using the usual methods.

A contact in the Netherland tells me that someone in Germany can make new ones from scratch but I have yet to here further from him, it looks like watchmaker stuff to me!

Thanks fir your reply, I will post as to how I get on with it all, as soon as the weather warms up!

You can get an available spec 260 then drill out 0.8 mm holes, then ream with a 2.60 reamer to make a U pattern.

I think 260S are the ones without holes and which you can use as a good basis to make every 260 you want it to be

260S are for two stroke bikes I guess?

John this is a useful table but it omits a little detail, not all holes are 0.8mm across all emulsifiers.
For example BR has 1.0mm holes. So we would need to double check the U hole sizes.
A table was in La Strega if i remember correctly with the hole sizes correctly identified.

According to the article in La Strega the U has 0.8mm holes.
The CT has holes of 1.0mm at A and B

If adapting other tubes excess holes can be plugged with solder.

The tables in La Strega certainly worked for our 31/2 when we bought new atomizer tubes and modified them by adding holes in the right places. Appreciate your carburetor is different but as a general principle its a good way forward.
