250 2C Seat

Post by BarryCambs »

I'm after a seat to replace the one on my 250. Inspection by those at the Rally failed to determine what's on it at the moment, but what ever it is, it's spoiling the look of the bike. Condition doesn't matter and even the seat pan would be great, as I we have someone local who could make up the foam and cover.

Many thanks, Barry

Great to have you at the Rally,
By the way Barry is ideally after the
Sport style 39.01.16 with the little rear hump.

A later 125 seat, might work too, 39.01 20, I think the only difference is the cover decals.

Does anyone know if a 250T seat has the same base as a 250 2C?

Is it the same or completely different from the 350 seat? I do have a spare Sport seat.

Hi Vitesse
Its a possible solution.

The 250 2C seat is quite a bit narrower than a 350 sport seat. However with a modification to the brackets, cut off and remake, it could be made to work, but the beauty of the 250 is everything is like a scale model of the 350 and all in proportion.

The 250T has similar fixing points but the distance between them is different so could be adapted without actually modifying the frame or seat, but the single cylinder models are rare (especially in the UK) and so not likely you will find one.

Thanks all for your input. I was told the 350 seat was wider. A chap very local to me has a 250 2c off the road at the moment (and owes me quite a big favour) so I might see if I can borrow his saddle to look at. As my fittings seems correct, it could be my seat pan could have an extension welded and a bit of remodelling if all else fails.
