Dart ammeter wanted

Post by clanger9 »

I'm looking for a Dart ammeter. Not working is fine - I just need the outer part.
Let me know if you've got one...

Ammeter? A Dart doesn’t have an ammeter. Do you mean oil temperature gauge? The smaller one on the right hand side of your dash cluster of 3 instruments. Or has your dart been modified.

I might have a spare oil temp gauge but possibly with a broken case or glass. What bit of it specifically do you need?

Really? Wow, mine does!

Now that I look at it carefully, does indeed look like a mod. It doesn't match the other instruments. I just figured they were all like that.
Which explains why I couldn't find another one anywhere...

I'd upload a photo, but the forum doesn't want to play today.

This is what a dart dash should look like (ok ignore the different top yoke and bars, and the fact the dash is set a bit lower in the subframe as this is my modified 501)

Forum was a bit up the creak earlier which is probably why you couldn’t upload a picture but I think I have sorted that now

Thanks, TomI That explains a thing or three. Here's what mine looks like:

The mod has been done rather well. There is a visible mark where the extra bit joins, but I figured this was a historic repair.
I guess the mismatched clock style should have been a giveaway...

I’m more interested in the replacement fairing panel.

I fitted a little charging indicator light to mine:

Easy to fit, and seems to be working nicely so far. I got it from https://gammatronixltd.com/epages/bae94 ... BIKE-E-12V - although if you buy from their eBay shop, postage is free.

A moto guzzi voltmeter is easy to find, and should provide the same info.
