Wanted- 5 bolt sprocket in 520 size

Post by morini_tom »

Just doing the sensible and converting my sport to a 520 chain. I have the front sprocket but need a rear.

I’ve contacted B&C express as I know others have had good service from them, but in the meantime, on the off chance someone has a new 520 5 bolt sprocket on the shelf, i’d be interested.

If I end up having one made by B&C then doing a group buy may be better for all involved, so let me know if you want one and I’ll find out cost for a batch

Hi Tom,

How many teeth were you thinking of?

As I get older I am Grateful for all the teeth I can get!!

Standard is 38, happy with that but probably wouldn’t mind if it had an extra tooth or two as this bike is going to be more of a scratcher than a distance bike.

What have you?

Cheers,
Tom

I need to check, but I feel my gearing is a bit high. An older bike, modern fuel and most probably a bit of extra padding!

I think I have a 38, not sure what is on the front.

I have been in touch with B and C myself with a view to getting a 520 x42 tooth rear with a four bolt fixing. Some holdup on blanks apparently?.That sprocket has a 115 mm centre with bolts at 135mm ( if my Aldi caliper is to be believed)
I got a 520 x 38 tooth some years ago when I converted my K, it was running a 530.

Psssst don't tell anybody, but there is a chance that the one of the MuZ 600 might fit

Yes: 520 in 39, 43 and 45 size (Kanguro Camel X2/ X3)

Thanks Tom,

That’s really useful and does indeed look spot on. But a bit annoying as I’m still waiting for mine which I ordered weeks ago to be custom machined by B&C! (And at about twice the price of an MuZ one ) 😩

Cleaning my bike today I looked at the rear sprocket I got from NLM in 2018.

JTR1022. A 530 but same hole spacing and hole as the JTR18, which is a 520.
