Akront alloy 18-2.15-TC_286 wheel rim FREE

Post by 72degrees »

I may have offered this before, but free to anyone who wants to collect it:

Used AKRONT

18-2.15-36-TC-286-E-DOT

Non valanced alloy rim drilled to fit 350 Strada front hub.

'Weathered' but no dents.

I think that’s what I need for my Strada project.

Well,

a) The rear rim on your project is a valanced type so this one wouldn't match.
b) Looks like it's a bit far for local collection and carriage would be prohibitive.
c) I'm not sure now if it might actually have been on a 350 rear hub.

It's a long time since I hacked through the spokes. It probably came off the 'Rotarini' (2C frame, 350 forks and rear wheel with Rotax 250 2T engine) so may be from the rear wheel of that which I sold just the hub of to Evguru of this parish.

A few more Morini bits that will have to be cleared out from sheds as a result of an impending house move. I'm keeping anything that can be a spare part for the road 2C/375, including a complete rebuilt 350 engine, but there is some late 2C 250 'unobtainium' in one of them. Watch this space ;)

I don´t think that there ever have leaved street models with Akront alloy rims original from the factory. The early stradas had chromed steel rims, the Sport valanced Borranis. The only model perhaps maybe this rare Strada with front disc from 76 (the only one I´ve ever seen)? But to me it looks like chromed steel as well

I should clarify that this rim was put on a 'Strada' for hill climb and circuit racing duties to replace the standard rim. I think now it is a 'rear' from the Rotarini and I remember that I also had a 2.50 version with an extra sticky racing wet tyre.

I put valanced Akronts on the original Forgotten Error.

Some Morinis in, not as they left the factory, non-shocker ;)

My old mate Wayne Stevens here in Bath, has a disc brake Strada with valenced alloy rims.
Not checked to see if they are Borranis or replacement Akronts. The bike came from Spain, where they were sold new by the Barcelona importer.

Today there are all kind of wheels and rims (as top yokes) in any street model. I was talking only about what originally left the factory. Today there are probably more "350 Sports from ´76" on the road than left the factory
