Thanks Chris, I took a look there and it seems to predict a 'second half of 2021' or 'possibly September'. Surely they will have missed our boat by then? The season in Northern Europe will be drawing to a close and all the bigger manufacturers will have moved on a step or three by then with new bikes that leave this even further behind :cry:
I had been hoping that investment from a big Chinese firm and the adoption of a proven power unit would allow a swift development and launch.
Oh well, by the time these bikes do get here I'll have to accept I'll be past it! My VFR800X is already at the upper end of what I can cope with regarding weight. At the moment I'm coping but my driveway is a steep slope and turning a large bike round on it requires a knack. Then strength if you get it wrong! A lot of my visitors on bikes won't even ride up it to park as they can see the challenge! I have no plans to move house either.
Maybe my next project should be a VFR800X lowrider trike with reverse gear? About 3 years ago (before Honda entered my life) I tried a Granpasso for a few hours. Great but not really the fit-and-forget modern bike I was looking for, it would have needed more owner involvement than just riding it, and that for me is what a modern bike should offer. I'd hoped the Chinese Morini would have provided that. I like to keep my garage time for the old stuff and still have enough time for riding.
Oh well, in my 51 years of riding (yes, including underage) I have had a fair run and range of thrills. Perhaps it's time to admit the inevitable and that time is not on my side anymore and I'd better get another trip to Asia under my belt pdq! :)

Euro6 will be here before it is launched and they'll have to put in an electric motor and give it a true range of 42 miles.

Steve,

Can't you get a nice man with a JCB and some concrete to scoop you out a horizontal platform just for bikes at the bottom of your slope? That's what I've got, and it just means carefully backing the bikes out of the garage on an arc until I get to the pad and can thence ride straight out onto the road, once I've kitted-up and done my Valentino Rossi stretching exercises of course! Only kidding about the last bit...

I'm as weedy and aged as a weedy/aged fellow but can manage my machines in that way. If an obstruction means I have to back right down to the road, I'm terrified, especially on one of the taller machines.

I hope you can prolong your active (biking) life, even if it means eating dog food! :D

Perhaps they should re-name this to either "Bandit" or "fury" They seem to be using BSA for inspiration on this one.

Thanks Nick, I think you have the right idea there. I probably made my situation sound a bit more dire than it really is. It will come but it isn't quite imminent. Yet. I'm still able to cope on the driveway, got used to it obviously, but some of my bike mates are goggled eyed when they see me do it!
I'll wait till I get to that bridge then decide if I have to have a Bantam. Or better still a 125 Corsaro? 2 stroke Morini 125? Lots to choose from :)

Steve - unless you prefer to have your bike in pieces / lacking in any sort of performance, don't have a Bantam. They are also as addictive as Morinis... :)

I know! I've been there a number of times already :roll: Actually I have built quite a few for others as well, having a Bantam spares maker/seller local helps a lot and there are endless upgrades that can be done. I quite like them-for a while then I move them on and swear I won't do it again as I've been there done that enough already.
