Front fork leg’s alternatives?

Post by Motomat350 »

Hello all morini experts :D

I’m looking for a new set of Marzocchi legs for my 3 1/2.
Can anyone suggest other legs than tnk/TAROZZI Marzocchi remakes?
It seems that Ducati pantah and Cagiva sst250 might be the same? - but I can’t get it confirmed..

Happy biking :D

Hi,
Pantah ones can fit straight on, but it depends on what year your bike was built. My '78 Strada has them (Tarozzi) and they are good now, but I had to make up various spacers to make them work. Others have fitted them without issue as they were the same as their old ones. To me, they are well made and worth buying if your bike is in the right age bracket.
Whether Allbike Engineering in London can help I don't know.
Other options are getting what you have replated (eg. Philpots in Luton).
As for other bikes, the only likely candidates other than the Pantah are probably few and far between, and extremely rare now.
Regards, George

The Cagiva SST250 (Or Harley Davidson as mine was badged years ago!) seems a poor choice as they are very uncommon over here. I'd also be surprised if they are a suitable length as those are much taller, more upright bikes.

Thanks for your suggestions. I have a possibility to pick up a set from a cagiva sst250 for a reasonable price. I guess the chance for a propper fitment, is as good or bad as a set from a Pantah. I think I'll give a try..

Ive got Pantah fork legs etc amongst my spares.

Be advised though, that the Ducati/Guzzi Brembo P5 caliper mounting bolt spacing is not quite the same as the Morini Grimeca
