seen the ad.
requires a serious sum of money to restore to reasonable condition, seeing the engine stores in dismantles state under same moist conditions

I've just taken a proper look at it. Yes it will need a lot doing even to make it a practical rider but the main bits seem to be there. The heads look to have had a pretty gruesome field repair to the exhaust threads but if the price was right it's a viable project. All those rusty rockers and bits etc I have usable replacements in my shed. No I won't be bidding-I have too much going on already. Unless it goes really cheap, which I think is unlikely with 5 bidders already on it. Restored properly these seem to command salty prices with collectors and even in good usable order they ain't cheap.
It will be interesting to watch. And tempting too..

Prospective buyers should confirm its A/1 frame prefix to be sure its a drum brake sport.
1976 should be disk brake, however it could be late registration of a 1975 model in the UK.

The cylinder heads look like they've been stored on The Thistlegorm! How do you let them get that bad? Are they reclaimable?

Well it went for over £1,600! I'm struggling to see that much there!

I think someone has a great project there. It looked a bit sorry but the wheels and brakes are probably worth a good chunk of the final price.

I hope it gets put back on the road and seen at club events.

That's the main thing, that it isn't one of those projects that gets shuffled around on eBay never to be completed.

DVLA list the registration as a 1976 Moto Guzzi, 344cc and tax due 1/11/1981 so its been off the road for a long time.
