Rear Sprocket from JT

Post by Johnmcnally »

I can confirm that a reasonable replacement sprocket in for my cast wheel Strada and probably the majority of cast wheel models was sourced from JT Sprockets : JTR1022.38 around £22 It's in 530 - I had wanted to convert to 520 but I already had a 530 chain and getting hold of the non standard size sprockets was proving too much of a problem.

Thanks to Mike Smyth for the tip.

Just to complete the loop on this one, following advice from Tom Ros in the ‘wanted forum’ I bought a sprocket from an MuZ660 which is a 39 tooth and in a 520 size. Readily available for about £20.

JTR18-39 is the code.

Not fitted it yet but it looks spot on.

Now everybody has easily available options for both 530 and 520 sprockets

With regard to converting my 1979/80 Strada to 520 (which I’d like to do), what’s the codes for those sprockets and length of the 520 chain please? It seems the 530 chain is 96 links and Tom’s identified the MuZ 660 JTR 18-39 tooth so I think this sprocket along with a 520 x 96 o ring-if correct-just leaves the front sprocket to establish?

Sorry to maybe be asking something that already has an answer, if so please direct me to that page! Thank you!
