Morini Police Bikes

Can anybody point me in the direction of information on Carabinieri Morinis?
I have a dark blue Strada and someone suggested it may be an ex-police bike, so I thought I would try to research its history.
I imagine police bikes would have some special modifications that may be reflected in frame numbers, or wiring or some other tell-tale signs?
If anyone has any info, or knows where I might start looking I'd be most grateful.
