Brake hose

Post by AndyB57 »

Yet another question - sorry, will try to keep them to a minimum as I piece the bike back together.....

Please note this is about a Strada with 'normal' bars as opposed to clipons which I think have a less cluttered setup. The routing of the brake hose is not straightforward. The length of the master cylinder at the union means the hose has to dive between the clocks pretty sharply a few cms from the lever, and I'm not sure which banjo fitting makes most sense. There's no obvious alternative route. The hose I've taken off had a slight bend to the union which helped to a certain extent but the lever was crammed hard up against the throttle housing so not great.

Any suggestions which hose and banjo works best?

Hi Andy,
On the pre K disc stradas, the hose has an end on connection, i.e. as if the 'banjo bolt'was fixed directly onto the end of the hose. This gives a nice sweep down between the clocks.

Hope this helps.

Thanks George, that makes a lot of sense.
