I have a faulty regulator from a 75 Strada which I believe is called a single phase type -2 yellows and a brown connected to it.
My query is has anyone tried repairing these? With the cover off there seems to be 2 diodes pressed into the case which I have tested with a meter,both are faulty. There are no numbers visible and the Dutch Morini site has no useful info on this regulator, any help would be appreciated,
thanks , Dave.
repairing regulators
They aren't diodes, they're Thyristors or SCRs (Silicon Controlled Rectifiers). They are like a diode, except you need a gate signal to turn them on.
The Dutch site does have a circuit diagram for that regulator;

They won't produce any output if there is too low a voltage on the control pin, the brown wire in this diagram;

Check the voltage on this pin (with the ignition switch in all positions) before drawing any conclusions.
