(correct me if I'm wrong)

A 3 1/2 wouldn't have had turn signals in 1974. Fit whichever ones you like.

I have replaced the indicators on my later model with mini-indicators. Much lighter. I had to have a rear mounting lug re-welded first.I think it had failed due to stress looking at the broken surface of the metal.Rather horrid looking metal at that. The flashing rate was a bit quick, but I swapped flasher units and now it's fine.
