bits and bobs

Post by dunk 1 »

just tidying the bike and sorting out bits here and there - the previous owner had blanked the grease nipples on the ends of the swing arm spindle with bolts so I ordered 2 new ones from nlm they came and the left hand side fitted correctly, the thread is about 5mm however they provided the same fitting for the right hand side but here the thread is about 7 mm is this right and if not can anyone explain why.
also what are the screws in the middle of the fork caps for -they arn't in the parts manual
thanks - duncan

Hi,

I can't explain the differnece in grease nippels (except that they stripped the right wire replacing one and did a rethread)

The crews in the middel of the fork caps are probably there to releive excess pressure (there is a spring/ball under the screw) but you'll have to ride a bumpy road pretty hard to get 'm in action.
