50cc 2 st scrambler

Post by rossguzzi »

Hi,
Is there many engine parts for these little guys around ? There is one for sale locally. Have not seen it yet, but wondering if piston and rings are rare or not.
Cheers.

They are generally a 'different' Morini -'Morini Franco Motori'. They are moderately common here in France as bikes and mopeds, Italy too. You may be able to find spares, but I can't help further.

Just had a look on one of the free sites here. Postage might not help, of course... https://www.leboncoin.fr/recherche/?cat ... in=subject

So it turns out to be a 4 stroke Moto Morini. He wants too much for it. $3800 OZ Dollars. It is fairly complete except for the exhaust. Needs lots of work though.

Then he tells me he has a v twin 250 !
It's in good condition. But hasn't run for about 4 years. It's got me thinking ! $6500

If this topic is to continue, can I respectfully suggest it moves to another forum as it seems to have nothing at all to do with the 125/250 "Singles"?

Point taken, sorry.
Just could not find a relevant place to post this. BTW the title is just 'Singles'.

that would be the "Pre V Twin models" section. Maybe a mod can transfer the whole topic

This is where lonely Morini people find other lonely Morini people for friendship and possibly more. Must have a GSOH (their own house and a large bank balance)... :)

Hi Ross, IMO, the 250 sounds overpriced as well as the 50. I'd really want to check out the parts availability for both before going further. Your Camel is popular by comparison, I'd guess.
I'm pretty sure someone has put a 350 engine in a 250 frame, I think it ended up being a very cool special. Must be a thread somewhere.

You know what they say, "Tell him he's dreaming."
