Owners manual for Scrambler

Post by nickst4 »

The first cry for help, but I'm sure it won't be the last!

My new-to-me bike had already lost the owners manual. I'll give NLM a call to see if they've got anything, but is there someone kind here who could scan theirs, or lend it to me to scan it? Definitely worth a few socially-distanced beers!

Thanks,

Nick

Quite a few manuals and owners handbooks on the MRC Members area site, although possibly not for the Scrambler (yet).

The owners book is quite basic - if you've ridden the bike you'll know where all the controls are, and service intervals vary by year and reflect increasing levels of experience with the bits that wear out. One difficulty can be the oil filter, which for reasons best known to Lambertini and Morini is a specialised item for the 1200 Morini engine only (whatever others may say...).

Our Webmaestro is working on updating the manuals section so help may be at hand,

Good riding,

Thanks Chris,

Tom has just put me right about the fact I need to dip my hand in my pocket to get access to file stuff. I know I was a member in the days of my Dart, but never expected to darken your doors again until I discovered the existence of the Scrambler about a week ago! Impetuous; me  :D

No bad thing, especially if you end up riding a Morini...

To close this one off and see my name in lights again (it's a flurry of newbie enthusiasm! ), Tom has dug out an excellent digital copy of the Scrambler Owner's Manual and it awaits anyone else who might need it, residing in the Members' Library. Hopefully, there won't be very many new owners trying to manage without the basic information and instructions for the digital dash. And yes, I did know which end of the bike was which!

I was looking for an owner's manual too...I also suffer from bouts of extreme enthusiasm and bought a 2009 Scrambler a month ago. Love it. It's completely nuts!

Might that have been the red one with gold cylinder-heads that was also on ebay? I barely noticed that before it disappeared and the red/white one I subsequently bagged remained. Two novel-to-me Morinis at once: the madness hadn't quite set in at that point! :D.

Since then, I've been reinstating the sawn-off tail of my bike, courtesy of Q-bond and some extra fixings. An LED H4 bulb has gone into the headlamp and some nice fresh rubber on the wheels. Now it just needs riding!
