Guvo,
Tecmoto tell me that every time you remove an ECU (even if you put the same one back) it has to have the TPS reset; otherwise it runs like a dog at the bottom end.
Alex form Maniac Motors has told me that the race ECU has to be "flashed" to work with a PCIII, this is because the ECU has to stop working as a closed loop system (or the ECU will just keep trying to compensate for the PCIII)
there are other ways of fooling the ECU without having to fit a PCIII, with my Benelli TNT I connected a pot within the air sensor signal circuit, this meant I could fool the ECU into thinking the inlet air temp/volume was different from its true reading, the ECU then compensated by increasing or decreasing the fuelling ratio to suit the modified signal, it made a big difference to the low end fuel ratio where most Benelli's run ridiculously rich.
The problem is any “bolt on†after market unit like the PCIII cannot change the top end fuelling, as it does not actually override the ECU.
At present my Veloce is going very well (although you can never get enough power)

and does reasonable mpg for touring, so do I really want to sacrifice reliability and mpg for another 3 or 4 bhp? Now 20 to 30 bhp increase would be another whole consideration.
