Rear hugger wanted

Post by clanger9 »

Does anyone know where I can get a replacement rear hugger?

Mine caught the frame while riding two-up (I know, I know...) and has suffered a bit of damage :(

Rear hugger damage is not uncommon, and can be made worse by too wide a rear tyre.

I’m pretty sure NLM had some fibreglass copies made (certainly did for the front) so maybe try Mdina.

Of course, unlike the front mudguard, the rear is different to a Freccia (chain on the other side) so this unfortunately is a dart only part.

Fibreglass dart panel manufacture keeps cropping up- sooner or later enough people will need parts to make it viable.

Maybe pattern making could be a project whilst in self isolation?

Thanks! I'll give Mdina a call: they aren't listing any on their website, but you never know.

Yes, one day we should get replacement Dart panels. It's getting easier & easier (what with 3D scanning and printing) and I've heard that the classic car fraternity are getting entire panels made this way. Still pricey, but nevertheless possible...
