Migration of the Dutch Morini Club's website and forum to the MRC

Post by julianharty »

Several of us been working on the migration of an archive of the Dutch forum which is now available at
https://www.morini-riders-club.com/Nederland/forum/? together with the contents of the rest of the Dutch Morini Club's website:
The archive is read-only for new posts and contributions (with the exception of administrators in case updates need to be posted there).

Current members of the MRC and previous members of the Dutch Morini Club should have access to their collection of back issues of Rebello, their magazine. The materials are available at https://www.morini-riders-club.com/Nede ... gtest.html and for personal use (please don't post them online, etc.).
  • MRC members need to login with your MRC membership username and password;
  • Previous members of the Dutch club use their member login details.
  • Anyone else is welcome to join the MRC :)
The Dutch club has closed down and their site will disappear from the internet, hence the archive of their website and forum as it's been immensely useful and interesting for me and many others.

There was a lot of work involved in the migration: There are still some bits and pieces we're working on in the next week or so with the aim of improving the experience for anyone looking for the original website.

Excellent work Julian. Thanks for coordinating the task. Glad to be of minor assistance.

Sorry for being over optimistic about the possibility of merging the phpBB installations.

An alternative strategy might be a new section of this forum with a list of links to 'important' and useful topics on the Dutch one. An advanced search can unearth gems but you have to be able to login to do so. So a curated list of particularly informative forum 'technical' threads might be welcomed - in addition to the material on the web site.

The Rebello archive is a wonderful resource. Happy to assist with a similar archive for ATG - even if it's to just OCR and proof read scans of old issues.

Well done to all that have helped to save the Dutch site, it was far to valuable to loose.
Regards Pete.
