Morini V Twins don't have a normal paper oil filter, they have a gauze filter under the oval shaped plate on the right hand side just above the oil drain plug.
Wash it with petrol, dry it and put it back in.
The oval cover has a cut out in the back, the thick end goes at the top when you replace it. You will see what I mean when you look.

My 478cc engine takes 3 litres, not sure about the 501.

Hope this helps

Hiya, I found this link in some other part of the forum...

http://www.oaktrees.plus.com/download/M ... 201979.pdf

Its a 25Mb pdf of the complete owners manual with all specs etc... even oil capacities! :D

Steve, maybe this should be on the homepage!!!
:)

Rob,

That's a PDF file of the original Moto Morini Service manual with a blue cover. Also known as the "Blue" manual. :)
When I get time I will put together a page showing basic service settings, tappets, oil capacity etc
