France : Moto Morini Passion annual gathering

Post by FB21 »

Hello, friends,

As every year in spring, our French Club organizes its gathering.
2017 was in Normandy, many of you came.
2018 in Belgium, 2019 in Italy.
This year it will stay South of Paris, close to Fontainebleau in Nonville.
Welcome of people will start on Thursday May 7th from 5 PM.
And it will be over on Sunday 10th afternoon.
We are waiting for several important confirmations:
- Franco Lamberini to be our honour guest one more time
- the Morini works in Italy will manage to allow us to display two of their new 6 1/2
- and it is likely that Wim Raeymaekers will be with us on Saturday 9th to launch is new book on Morini (in English and Italian).
Plenty of reasons to plan a trip to France in May.

You will find below the several forms regarding this event.
You can also contact me for any question: f-bernard21@orange.fr.
Hope to meet you in May…

François.

Breaking news :

In addition to what had already be published in these pages, I had just get a new offer from Hotel Kyriad in Nemours, 5 miles far from Nonville.
That is where my wife and me will stay.

The rooms are cancellable until 6PM on arrival day and have to be paid while checking-in.
To get that rates you need to specify : groupe "club Moto Morini Passion"
All the rooms are ensuite bathroom and toilets.
Could be double bed or twin beds and there are some ones with one more bed.
The car park is OK and free.
The hotel is on a motorway A6 service area but could be reached with an external road, no need to be on the motorway.

Room for 1 people with breakfast………….………69€00
Room for 2 people with breakfast…………..……79€00
Room for 1 people without breakfast……………..…59€00
Room for 2 people without breakfast…………..……59€00

Local stay tax : 0.55€/person

But by going directly on the web site you can book a non-cancellable room without breakfast for 46,90 € and take your breakfast at Nonville for 5 €

Very tempted. The Fontainebleau area is lovely. I went a couple of times when my son was bouldering in the forest at 'Font'. Even trout fishing in the Grand Canal of the chateau.

Must consult my diary !

I booked the Eurotunnel and the Kyriad Hotel but I have cancelled the bookings. I do not think we will be out of this mess by May, and I think it important in Summer 2020 we travel as close to home as possible.

If the event is cancelled I hope the hard work by Moto Morini Passion is not wasted and the same venue and programme can be utilised. I was looking forward to visiting the SNECMA museum and the chateau at Fontainbleau. Not forgetting the beer, wine and great food! :)

Stay safe everybody!

Mike.

Yes let’s hope next year will be better. I was going to book on my return from Spain but luckily decided not to go as they declared a state of emergency next day.

I booked the hotel (now cancelled) but didn't book for the event as was thinking things weren't looking good.
According to a letter from the NHS I got on Saturday I'm not to go further than my garden for 12 weeks :(
Realistically, until a vaccine is developed and distributed I'm pretty much confined to barracks for possibly 18 months.
Fingers crossed for France in May 2021 - but I'm now pinning my hopes on a visit to the IoM for the 2021 Classic TT.
