I had the following message from Grant Sellars who came to the trackday last week and helps organise motorcycle events.

I assist in the running of Vintage & Classic Hillclimbs in the North East
via Middlesbro’ & Dist Motor Club,we would be pleased to include a
class for Morini’s.For our details please see our website or contact me.

The events are open to standard road bikes or modified ones, and you'll find Grant's contact details on the Middlesbro' Motor Club's website.

It looks like fun!

Grant Sellers? 73 years old and competed for 50 years in the Manx Grand Prix?

Was he on a Norton?

I didn't meet him Mike, but if the name fits, it is probably him. There were certainly some very well-ridden Nortons at the trackday.

I looked at the club website and they had a twisty sprint at Richmond yesterday. Took a bimble over on the Scrambler and the event was great. Real grassroots sport. Fine selection of bikes running, too, including a nice Morini.

Do you ever get over to the event in Barbon? - I realise it's in Red Rose country so you may need a visa ( ). I haven't been for years now, distance being what it is...

It would appear the venue is no longer used... I might take a trek to Catterick and also Harewood. Maybe sign up for a go, too! The way things are going, may be the only way to ride an old clunker in the future...

The Westmorland Motor Club ran a bike meeting at Barbon on 11th May. The first time for some years. NHCA go to Harewood (August 25th), but it is a combined meeting with cars so limited entry.
