Hi Pete,

I have asked the landlady, Jo, if it is ok and she as said it is. She mentioned the steam rally, but obviously a week too early.

Please introduce yourselves to Jo.

Mike.

Hi Pete,

Sorry if I've put you out. I have known Jo for about 35 years. We first met at the RAC / ACU training scheme in Swanley. Jo could sure ride well, I could never keep up!

Hoping to be there - it'll be a nice ride along the Downs (but probably use the M25 to get there for such an early start...)

Good riding,

I will do my best to get there, I haven't been at home for quite a few Sundays and my other half is muttering about "tearing the arse out of it" quite justifiably.
However, I will do my best to get there, whether on two wheels or four will depend on the weather as I've gone soft in my old age and don't do wet and cold anymore.

An unexpected change in plans means I get to play in the garage all day tomorrow.

Hopefully I'll get the Kanguro to run and it can keep Pete's company!

It will be interesting to see the assembled company on Sunday.

Well Pete I had a day in the garage but no Kanguro for the meet up. I wanted to fit a new timing belt but couldn't get the timing marks to sit right and the front cylinder valve gear wouldn't move. No problem just whip off the rocker cover and see what's going on. Except if the hex rounds out on the caphead!! On two of them as well.

It is an X3 so to get anywhere near things it's tank off, which means seat off and plastics off. Also off with the air filter. I manage to drive an impact driver bit into the head of the caphead but still no movement on either so I'll have to drill them out. Unfortunately there's not the room to get the drill in so it's engine out time. So I sit here watching the footie having beaten seven barrels of the proverbial out of the exhaust system before being able to remove the engine. While the engine is out I think I'll get the exhaust threads done as there appeared to be nothing except paste holding the castle nuts in! Talk about a job growing arms and legs!

I will have to play with the Coguaro next.

See you at the Kings Arms tomorrow.

Big thanks to Pete, John, Chris and Diane, really enjoyed the first South east meet up to day, I had brilliant run there and back, lovely weather and very interesting conversations. I would have posted some pictures but the combination off my I pad and this forum it's a no go.
Regards Pete.
