Boxing Day

Post by willse2 »

The Vintage Club have a gathering on the top of Parbold Hill in Lancs and a run on Boxing Day . I'm not a member , just an interested spectator , as are many of the attendees. If you fancy blowing the Christmas cobwebs out , this is a large meeting with a great variety of vintage ,classic and modern bikes all getting together in the viewing area in front of the Wiggin Tree pub ( which is usually closed !! )
Well worth a visit , and my Strada will be there again this year !
Regards,
Will.

Another Boxing Day event

The Wild & Woolly motorcycle scramble has been a regular fixture on the
Northants sporting scene since the early part of last century, and this year celebrates its 81st anniversary. Organised by the Northampton Motorcyclists Club, the Wild & Woolly Scramble takes place on Boxing Day from 10am at Arm Farm in Blisworth. The track is just off the Northampton Road before the railway bridge, and if you've never been before this year is your chance to take in one of the longest running motorcycle races in the world. The race lasts for an hour, during which the riders will face multiple river crossings, and all the ensuing mayhem that these create. It's usually a muddy and messy affair, and there's little doubt this year will be any exception.

Entrance is free although it is good form to buy a programme as all proceeds go to local charities. Also wear your scruffy clothes and boots as the racing can get a little muddy...

See this web page for pictures and a write-up of last year's event.
