If I remember correctly the K atomisers have holes right at the bottom and the D don't. I think some folk may have turned D in to K by filling in the holes with solder.
This long thread is worth a read.

Re: Refurbishing carbs, what parts wear
The carbs seem to be fine but I am one of those people who likes everything to be spot on and I feel that the mid range could be better. Ah, the mid range flat spot ;) Running standard exhaust system and air cleaner? Be thankful it hasn't got PHBH28's on. Though oddly mine is a lot better since I u...

Re: Front end vibrations!!!
As the discs are floating did you replace the centres as well as the outer disc? The bobbins may be worn? The bobbins were so worn on my Gilera Saturno front disc that you could hear them rattling but no brake pulsing. I was able to replace the bobbins. The 'carrier' might be slightly warped I supp...

Re: Jetting issue?
As I’ve said many times before, its not difficult to diy. The hardest part is finding a coil former. Now 3D printing is becoming more easily available even that should diminish. These are old bikes, supposedly we are enthusiasts, prepared to do a bit moer than expect off the shelf spares. A rewindi...

Exasperating!
This thread may be worth a look even though about a Triumph. Note mention of the wheel hub itself possibly being not 'true'.

Re: Jetting issue?
Good to hear you have sorted the coil. Are there any companies left providing this service or are we now reliant on helpful club members? A very pertinent question. A quick google threw up these folk but I haven't made an enquiry (touches wood and glances at spare stators on shelf). http://www.vehi...

Re: Leaking Clutch Oil Seal
My special clutch holding tool is an old driven plate with a length of steel bar attached by two set screws and nuts. You need a very sharp drill bit!
It doesn't engage fully on the drum splines as the 'handle' gets in the wav but it has never failed me.

Re: Carb settings.
One and a half turns out from fully in for the mixture screws. Throttle stops equally in far enough to hold the slides up a smidgen but not too much. You can do a finger prod or dangling stick approach to get the slides rising together when opening the throttle. Probably worth erring on the not too ...

Re: Well it did seize !
The crank timing pinion succumbed after a good heat and shock 'n unlock cycle once armed with a perfectly fitting 28mm ID x 5 mm thick washer behind the circlip and a 30 to go behind that over the timing belt splines (supplied very quickly by ACCU). A heavy duty two leg puller soon had it off. Strug...

Re: 250 2c carb to airbox manifolds
As far as I can see, 30.01.61 is the 90 degree rubber 'elbow' with MM50 moulded in so yes the same as the Camel Start Gomma V619? For some odd reason I have 3 used ones in the odds and ends box in the shed. There must have been four when I 'broke' the 250 that became the Forgotten Error. No stiffeni...

Oh and for future reference the nominal dimensions of the bushes in question appear to be as follows. 25.01.11 1st gear bush on driven shaft ID 17 OD 21 L 12.5 25.01.12 2nd gear bush on driven shaft ID 20 OD 24 L 17.5 The other plain with spiral 25.03.09 (5th gear bush on main shaft) seems OK on my ...

Re: Gearbox cluster compatibility
I decided to take my shaft, gears and two sets of used bushes to a CNC machinist locally who made me a custom small end for a Gilera 98. He agrees that there is too much play and is going to quote for making new ones from suitable material. Once the machine is set up he can run off as many as the sm...
