Re: fuel line
Did they really use ethanol resistant rubber fuel hoses in the 20's, 30's, 40's 50's and 60's when you could top up your vehicles with ethanol added fuels such as National Benzole(?), and another but cannot remember the name off hand at the momentm, but I am sure someone will come up with the fuels ...

Re: Kick Start Pacer wanted
From what I have been told the extenders are not completely satisfactory. I extended the lever fulcrum on mine by welding on to the existing pivot an extension, so that the pivot was displaced outwards much as the one you are after It clears my rear sets withou problems, aany adjustment can then be ...

Didn't anybody go to maths lessons at school and learn how to convert degrees to radians or were they round the back of the bike sheds with the scool bikes?

Re: Three years later, still having problems with idle
I am glad that the photos have helped in the identification of your problem, but to confirm without takeing apart just yet though a rebuild sounds in order, do as I suggested in my email to you by confirming the little end is out of kilter. The bush is 17mm and the bore of the gudgeon pin is usually...

Re: Three years later, still having problems with idle
ou have had a lot of problems with your engine and I have resisted from offering suggestions apart from checking the ‘gate’ slides of you carbs. If the engine is assembled correctly then you should not have had the problems that you have now uncovered. I have built a few moroni engines 350’s 374’s 5...

Re: Top speed on a Strada?
The K2 I had in everyday usage was good for 75ish and on a long flat straight would go up to 80ish+ and on long down hills and then flat would hold 90ish. That had restrictive silencers and pretty much no more than a tarted up Strada/Sport. Don't forget, although you have 35 Italian horses at the cr...

Re: Top speed on a Strada?
What rear chain wheel have you got fitted? If you are in top with too small a cog you will be below the power band. Have you tried droping into 5th and letting it rev up to around the 8000 mark then dropping into top for a bit more? May be of interest to you, but a bloke rode his Strada up from Lond...

Re: Top speed on a Strada?
PS. Those fuel flow recomendations came from Dellorto for the Benji Straw built 372cc racer and that would rev to 11,000rpm with a 36 back sprocket circa 1980's.

Re: Top speed on a Strada?
If you have an electric tap on only, then you will not flow sufficient fuel at anything over 70mph. If you have manual cocks then then you need a minimum fuel flow of 1/2 pint per minute from both taps at constant speeds under load. My own 507/478 would always have to have both cocks open if trampin...

Re: Starter Motor Brushes
If you go to a local electrical motor factors and shew them yours then they will be able to find a pair near to yours. I bought a number of pairs deliberatly slightly larger and then dressed them down to fit the brush holders. They are also slightly longer to achieve a greater pressure on the commun...
