Re: 350 500 motor conversion
They effectively replace the spark plug, the spark happens in the central chamber (which I don't consider to be truly a chamber as it's open along the length, but I can't think of a better way to describe it). So one end - the brass end has a small cap that unscrews (similar to the way some spark pl...

Re: 350 500 motor conversion
An important detail, the kokusan ignition system needs 12V to power the ignition, so a good healthy battery (and ideally the charging system working) are vital to getting them to spark and run. As a general tip I've recently bought 4 of spark gap test tools similar to these https://www.ebay.co.uk/it...

Re: 350 500 motor conversion
My 501 engined K1 framed bike currently has the more traditional clutch cover on the left side and no front mounted starter and retains the Kokusan generator and ignition with the coils mounted quite well under the tank similar to where the strada has the older coils. The wiring needs modifying for ...

Thank you for arranging the justgiving page.
BTW: Today was the last day the shop was open for business (15th December). They're busy packing everything up next week before shutting the shop on 21st.

Re: End of an Era
I spoke to Rob and Stuart today, the last day the shop is open for business. I've known Stuart and family since 1982, when I visited to take a friend who was so impressed by my 3 1/2 that he wanted to buy one from Stuart (which he did, VBC 745X, a bike I bought from my friend a few years later). Sin...

Re: downpipes and seat
Duncan, I hope you'll find someone able to adapt/adjust your stainless downpipes. If not, I'd be happy to pay you a contribution to them and also for the postage (I live in SE England). I do have a MIG welder and am happy to experiment with fitting them to my 3 1/2 which currently uses a battered se...

Re: 1981 K1 (Wiltshire)
Here's my suggestion:
Lower bound £500
Upper bound £1250
NLM sold a roadworthy high-mileage K2 this summer on eBay for under £940 (I was the losing bidder)

Re: Martin Gelder - RIP
I'm sorry, I spoke to him back in June when he hadn't made it to the rally weekend. He'd bought a Kanguro from me last autumn, I believe he managed to ride it in Spain this spring so at least he enjoyed riding Morinis until very recently. I'm abroad on the 19th so can't join you. @AndrewW please pas...

Re: 36th MRC Track Day - Cadwell Park - Thursday 12th July
FYI Sadly my Morini lost it's kickstart on the ride up to Cadwell, I got within about 60 miles but decided to turn around and return home as I had no way of starting my bike if it stopped (and it'd probably have to do so overnight) and old was gently seeping from the kickstart shaft as the bush had ...

Please can I buy at least one of each. I'm happy to buy two of each if you don't get other people asking for them in the next few days. I'm in the UK and happy to pay you by paypal.

Anyone got a spare frame mounted 3 1/2 fairing please?
I'd like to try fitting one of the Morini frame-mounted fairings, the ones with a rectangular headlight typically fitted to K1 and K2 bikes. I'm experimenting & while I'd love to buy another Morini with one of these fitted (there are several for sale at the moment) I suspect some of you might we...
