Re: Yorkshire Dales trip

Sunday was our breakfast meet up at Fradley Junction so we planned to ride on from there to the Yorkshire Dales for a couple of days of walking. Packing gear for riding, walking and evenings in the pub with enough to cover all weathers was a challenge but a tank bag, rear seat bag and rucksack was a...

Yorkshire Dales trip

For the last 10 years our European travels have been aboard the good ship BMW1200gs with a luggage capacity of up to 3 weeks. During that time I've had many different 2nd bikes for Sunday Breakfast trips but none have remained as long (2 years) or got under my skin like Scrambler has. Since my Wife ...

Re: Bridgnorth Italian Auto Day

Just spotted this. Our local club have got a weekend rideout from the East Mids over to Aberystwyth Saturday and returning Sunday via Ironbridge so may try to visit Bridgenorth mid afternoon. There will be a mixture of bikes but could be a couple modern Italians amongst them including my Morini Scra...

Re: How many Scramblers in the UK?

What tyres are on yours. Wish i’d got the 17inch front wheel. I thought all Scramblers had the 19" front wheel :? , mine does. My gs has the same combo ie 17" rear/19" front which I've done over 50k miles on so for me I like it, on other bikes with the 17" front I always felt li...

Re: How many Scramblers in the UK?

Michelin Anakee 2's which were on it when I bought it with 6k miles on the clock but the rear spins up really easy in the damp. Now on 7100 miles and they're about due for a change which is a bit disappointing compared to the Tourance tyres I run on my BMW gs which usually get 10k miles out of

How many Scramblers in the UK?

Looking on the Government road tax records https://www.howmanyleft.co.uk/vehicle/m ... _scrambler it shows that the maximum number of Scramblers ever in the UK is 7 but does anybody know of a way of checking how many were actually imported to the UK?

cheers, Tony

Re: Maiden voyage

I've had my 2010 bike for about 2 years now and have normally ridden with my Wife behind me on her own bike but because she only passed her test 2 years ago we generally ride quiet sedately and the suspension has always felt harsh on the Scrambler. Last week I did 80 miles riding on my own and was '...

Yes a 'leakdown' test would be better for pin pointing any problems .
Did you show NLM a sample of your oil?

Re: Accessories for scrambler

Try http://www.windingroads.co.uk/ Owned by mates of mine (Martin and Alison) and what they don't know about motorcycle luggage isn't worth knowing. I bought my Scrambler from a mutual friend of ours and Martin has known the bike from new. He has also provided soft luggage to the previous owner and ...

Re: oil filters

I presume the filters are the same on all the 1200 engines???
If so I'll need one for my 2010 Scrambler
