Re: frame grab handles

Thanks chaps, The grab handles don't appear to be a later fitment, or if they are it's a very neat job, certainly looks like it was a factory job but maybe just a very professional later addition, but I would struggle to imagine why anyone would bother, strange one. Like you Steve, I really fancied ...

frame grab handles

I have only been into Morinis for a relatively short time, three years or so, but seem to be becoming a bit addicted. I have recently acquired a 1st January 1977 registered, presumably 1976 model sport, a long way from original but who cares, it's a wire wheel, single disc bike, frame number 10506 w...

double drum sport

Hi all,
Having recently sold another bike, I have cash waiting and a hankering for a double drum sport, good price paid for a genuine example, don't leave it sitting at the back of the shed, let me play with it.

Re: 74 Sport

Thanks for that Hendre, As I said I'm fairly new to Morini's and no expert, and so before I went to look at the bike, I asked Stuart at NLM if I could identify a genuine sport from the frame number, he said no!! The only photo is on the Classic bike website and you won't tell much from that, I trave...

74 Sport

Hi all, Having just sold one of my Velo's I had some money burning a hole in my pocket, and as I seem to have become somewhat addicted to Morini's, when I saw an ad. for a 74 Sport I thought I would have to have a look at it. The bloke was adamant on the phone that it was a sport (it says so in the ...

Re: 501 manifold rubbers

Update on this issue, I sent the latest split ones back to NLM, Stuart was very concerned and immediately sent me out a pair of replacements F.O.C. Nice man and good customer service, I will be back. However, in the mean time I had ordered some from Start Gomma, these arrived the same day as NLM's b...

Re: 501 manifold rubbers

This is all really helpful stuff, thank you gents, still dithering over which way to go but this is all food for thought. I think I will try some of Alex's manifolds first and see how that goes. On a more positive note, I took the bike out at the Brands Hatch bemsee meeting Saturday, they do a lunch...

Re: 501 manifold rubbers

Is Alessandro from a company called "Start Gomma" in Italy? They might be my next port of call, I've split 6 inlet rubbers in the 3 years, the last ones being fitted by NLM and lasting less than 200 miles, not funny. None of the rubbers would be originals Paul, all NLM supplied replacement...

501 manifold rubbers

I have a 501 engined 3 1/2 which is a delight to ride, a real grin a minute bike BUT it has a problem which is starting to get me down, because it is still wearing the 3 1/2 airbox with the larger engine, the angle to said airbox from the carb is fairly extreme, although it seems to be achievable, t...

79 idiot lights

I have a 1979 3 1/2 with the four oblong idiot lights, blue, green, yellow and red, at some point these lenses have been butchered and I'm looking for some reasonable ones, it seems like they are not available new, has anybody got a set or even odd ones that they would be willing to sell?

Re: Head Bearingings

I recently had the same problem with rusty cups, Rob at NLM had 14 secondhand ones and he sorted me out one with as new chrome at a cheaper price than re-chroming would have been, always supposing I could have found a plater able to chrome just the top part. You really don't want chrome on the beari...
