Re: Grimeca piston size
Thanks, interesting thread which suggests the 19mm M/C I am running isn’t the original size (16mm), hence wooden feeling.

Re: Electrical issues
Found the issue in poor earth so switch not earthing! So all good there. In terms of connections to regulator the wiring is as per Blue service manual - see pic - so brown from fuse box to regulator as required I think. And red from battery to fuse box. Cheers

Electrical issues
Two problems possibly connected:
1) with the key in second (ie lights on (5 pole switch - 1977 Strada)) position the bike stopped charging.
2) having checked wires to switch and fuse block bike then wouldn’t turn off ie runs even with key out.
Any thoughts out there?
Cheers

Re: Top end cutting out
Finally got to the bottom of it. The block where the main jet/float bowl retaining nut screws in had split vertically. Not much but was allowing excess fuel round the main jet, hence rich running to end. Replacement carb body ( Ducatipaddy - nice refurb) and all good.

Re: Little brass tube in carb throat
Both holes clear. Just interested in the purpose of the tube and if some carbs had it while others didn’t?

Re: Little brass tube in carb throat
Understood on the air feed to the atomiser. The existing body (being changed as the jet block split) has the pipe. The replacement has the passage but no tube (see pic). Just wondering if the lack of tube matters?

Little brass tube in carb throat
Anyone know what the little brass tube slanting outwards in the bottom of the throat of the VHB carb? I have bought a new body and am fitting all the jets etc from the old one but finding this bit hard to remove. Just wondering how, and indeed what it is.
Cheers

Re: Top end cutting out
Having checked carbs thoroughly tried a plug change to BP7EV from B7ES and problem seems solved. I guess the more slender electrode works better.

Re: Top end cutting out
Hi, this is with two new taps fitted and both open. Dropping down gears makes no difference. I will check the ignition bits though.
