Re: Preload spacers in front forks?

I wish I could tell you, but it's been a long time since I had standard forks on my dart (I changed to mk1 mito for a number of reasons) I am pretty sure from memory that they do indeed have different spacers left to right. And different spacers to freccia too, so if you were to fit freccia forks yo...

Re: Handlebars

They are indeed the same as freccia. I've never seen new ones available, other than occasionalsy NOS ones popping up on ebay. Used Freccia ones are often available. I am not aware of anything off the shelf which is a direct replacement Which part is it you need? the bar or the alloy riser? They tend...

Re: Inlet rubber manifolds

Are you using the plastic collars which go around the rubber manifold at the head end, underneath the jubilee clip? Not using them is a good way to accelerate the splitting of the manifolds. Are the metal stub tubes in the head tight? They can loosen, again introducing air leaks. The part numbers fo...

Re: injector warning light

The ‘injector warning light’ is not just for the injectors, it’s a diagnostic light a bit like the MIL lamp on any modern car. It will illuminate for basic electrical faults in connected sensors as well as more fundamental faults like as you say faulty injectors. There is a diagnostic menu you can a...

Re: Need a new ignition switch

I connected to the original ignition wiring system and nothing was removed so if there was a diode in the wiring it will still be there. However if I do need to fit a diode what type should I get. The diode is normally inline between the green wire from the ignition switch and the fusebox, at the f...

Re: Need a new ignition switch

Neat solution. I’m sure you know, but make very sure you include a diode in your wiring extension loom on the (actual) green wire. This is to prevent a fault in the ignition switch putting battery voltage onto the green wire supplying the transducer, which will kill your transducers. If it were me I...

Re: dart wiring schematic

There is a wiring diagram in the members area. But I’ll send you an email with it. What specific issue do you have? Quite a pool of knowledge on this forum I’m sure someone can help. I find quite often that the dart looks corrode a long way down the wires, making it hard to satisfactorily repair. I ...

Re: Some carb balancing questions

Consensus is to keep a Morini on its stock airbox. Doing otherwise generally causes more trouble than gain. An airleak which causes the revs to rise at idle will normally be between the carb and the engine (essentially bypassing the slide’s function as a throttle) I wouldn’t worry about chasing a le...

ATG 383

ATG 383 is now online in the members area.

Ignore the information about the chairman’s run- we went to print before the cancellation, but do be sure to check out the details of our 2023 rally and AGM, for which booking is now open.

Best regards,
Tom

Re: I need your help

Hi Matt, Firstly sorry for your loss. Initial question on the carbs- are the slides in the correct way round as it’s possible to fit them backwards. Cable should enter the carb top on the engine side of the card and then rim un straight down to where it hooks into the slide, again, on the engine sid...

Re: Starter gear cover bolt length

Yes can confirm 2 different lengths for the long bolts. The one which goes through the centre of one of the gear clusters is 90mm and the two which go towards the front of the cover are 100mm. If you look on the inside of the primary drive case you’ll see that the 90mm bolt is threaded into the clut...

There are I think two different lengths.
