Re: Anyone recognise this?? New to Morini.

Nothing adds up. If it has a K frame then it should have electric start. The engine casing suggests otherwise. The K had more rear set pegs with a linkage to the gear lever. Does it actually have a generator (2 yellow wires)? If it was a racer it might just have a magneto coil for the ignition under...

Notice the water pipe from the cylinder head. Probably means the engine runs leaner, therefore hotter. Hopefully fuel economy will improve, too.

Re: Anyone recognise this?? New to Morini.

Could be gilardoni cylinders?

Generator rotor not from an electric start model unless someone has removed the ring.

I was also taught that. Compress the forks then apply the front hard. The rear will become unweighted and will lock.

The 500 used a splitter to operate both carbs.

Re: Eicma

So serious troubles, did you report this to the factory or importer? Poor sod, burning himself, you can be too nice too apparently ;) Did you tell the german chap it's actually Chinese? ;) Yes I did, but the problem is that the importer had changed to Moto Mondo, who failed to contact me, but would...

Re: Eicma

More photos... including my attempt at a tail tidy. A great bike spoiled by a design fault and a tank that needed to be 17 or 18 litres. When the fuel ran low, if you braked or went down hill the bike would cut out as the fuel pickup for the pump was at the rear of the tank. The most I got out of a...

Re: Eicma

I was overtaking a line of cars on the two lane A19 betwixt York and Thirsk and as I accelerated I felt a very high frequency vibration. I stopped further up the road to fill up and a guy came over and said my number plate was missing. Surprised, I looked and the whole thing had fractured down by th...

Re: Starter motor chain snapped

I always leave slack in the chain, it is easy to havebit too tight. As John says, a tooth may have broken taking the chain with it, but looking at the chain, it appears the roller has pulled out through the end of the plates. It may have seized. I'll have a good look at mine next time the case is of...

Yes, I worked it out in bed last night. Instead of dreaming of Kylie Minogue, I dream of Morini clutch centres!

Good to have it confirmed.

I thought the difference was the input shaft on the 500 is beefier and the sleeve is different, but the hub is the same.

Oops, just seen your other post.

How would the plates be the same if the centre hubs were different?
