Re: X3 Kangaro for sale
The big question is; do you mean Jim Moore (ex Bike mag journo) or Jem Moore (esteemed ex Chair of this parish)??

Is it the same or completely different from the 350 seat? I do have a spare Sport seat.

Re: Date of Manufacture Letter?
At the risk of asking a stupid question; is this only for Moto Morinis or can the club provide a dating letter for other makes of bike too?morini_tom wrote: ↑07 Sep 2023 22:00 Yes, the club is able to provide dating letters.

Re: Parts for '78 Strada
I had a Ricky Racer 2:1 on an old Strada and I always burnt holes in my waterproof trousers as I didn't have a heat shield. I've a Ricky Racer on my Sport. Having burnt jeans and boots on the exhaust I got a cheap generic heatshield from fleabay - it's just a piece of painted steel with jubilee cli...

Re: Starting from cold
With mine it's one choke on to start from cold. Not both and not none. How can that make sense to have choke on one carb?

Re: 500 sport for sale?
 The worst thing of the Morinis (nearly the only thing) to me is the position of the footrest. This position spoiles that buityful and excelent bikes. Everythings changes tremendously mounting set back footrests! Even with Strada handlebars, and with clipons it is obligatorio if you don´t like...

Re: 500 sport for sale?
My 3 1/2 has Tomaselli clip ons that are noticeably higher than the standard ones without looking like I've gone Easy Rider! Certainly fine for a day's riding.

Re: Kanguro
A proper expert will be along soon I'm sure but in the meantime be prepared to be confused. As standard the Kang has the strangest electrics I've ever heard of, being a combination of 6V & 12V, AC & DC! Not the same as the 3 1/2 or others. There is a Green Lane Morini WhatsApp group which I'...

Re: choke plunger tip/seal
I was told that the answer is to keep the chokes "on" when the bike is not in use. That stops the tips deforming. Makes sense.

Mine has a rectangular headlight cowl. I'm not aware of any other official option.

Historic vehicles registered with TFl can be exempt. https://tfl.gov.uk/modes/driving/ultra-low-emission-zone/discounts-and-exemptions Note this isn't automatic and you have to register for the exemption. https://tfl.gov.uk/modes/driving/low-emission-zone/find-out-if-you-need-to-register/how-to-reg...

Re: 1976 Starter motor field coils
Yes I too am fearful as the Glass Palace have emailed telling me my VW Golf needs a cambelt change. I said I bet it is more than my Morini ones and was not wrong. Straying off topic but I recall doing a Mk3 Golf cambelt and it was incredibly simple. Basically could do the whole job from in the whee...
