Re: Dijon 2012 - Coupes Moto Legende...

Indeed, I was particularly annoyed the waterproofs did not get used and that the road through Val Suzon had been irritatingly well resurfaced.

Re: Well it WAS going well...

2.5L semi synthetic in my 1982 350 does the trick.I just measure and mark the level on a plastic milk container. But you will see 3L quoted widely.Never seems to use much either.

Re: Black Liquid and noisy head - HELP!!

If the bike has only had short runs then combustion products including water will form, being discharded via the breather pipes like brown mayonnaise, or as you have seen black water in the silencers.I'd check the tappets on a cold engine to put your mind at rest re the engine noise at least in the f...

Re: Looking for pipes of peace not pieces of pipe!

To me this would make me mad. I do hope you resolve it. I got a left hand pipe only to discover the bend is different (why do this?)so i have given up for now.And to think I once lived near the bloke that made exhaust pipes for James Hunt. I was going to go down the stainless route but don't fancy b...

Re: Dijon 2012 - Coupes Moto Legende...

When I first went to le Mans to watch the 24hr bike race in about 1978 on a T150 , you never saw any police at all.No speed traps or radar of any kind.Obviously things have changed.Generally you do get flashed by oncoming drivers if theres a mobile radar setup and generally they sign radar on autoro...

Re: Battery 350 sport 1980

I have a PC680 ( I think thats the number on my K1).Never been an issue the past 3 years even with that electric coffee grinder in use.I've had batteries fail after about 15 months on my R60/7 and others lasted 6 years.

I was also about to suggest a wavy washer. I can speak with experience that trying to fix it by crimping up the pivot point is a very bad idea.

Re: General thoughts on Carbs

Bonos dies Alfonso hope you are enjoying things in cider country. Did you mean the la Baneza races? I have been trying to get to this but cannot get time off work. Slide carbs are a bit of a problem wearing out.I have slide carbs on a BMW and at least can get spares, though this is getting more diffi...

Re: Trackday Entry....

If anyoone is woried about going to a trackday, this is my experience... I went last time,my 1st trackday.I rode via the Fosseway which starts in theory round the corner and again In theory should go from one end to the other but something ghastly happens near Leicester.(so no surprises there then). ...

Re: Idiot lights

If it is wired to the oil pressure switch ,these either leak through the body of the switch or get crud in sometimes, causing them to stay on.What this crud is exactly is a matter of some interest perhaps. Incidentally I used to find fish problems down to needing a water/filter sort out, being carefu...

Re: Vibrazzione!

My rear indicator lug was broken off when I got the bike, so it had no indicators.I got the lug rewelded on. I had the original indicators but decided they were quite weighty items. I tried the mini indicators but was told they were not that visible on a motorway run. Also they draw 21w apiece. I now...

Re: Replacing Fuel Pipe

I just get green petrol pipe e.g from Carrot Cycles but try not to touch it when it's this cold! I use small in-line filters but these never pick any muck as I have already lined the tank with POR15.
