Re: Jetting issue?
My problem is that for me I need to undertake a procedure myself so that I can understand it, rather than simply reading about it.Somewhat ironic really as in the latter stages of my employment, writing or reviewing Standard Operating Procedures took up a lot of my time.

Re: Jetting issue?
Good to hear you have sorted the coil. Are there any companies left providing this service or are we now reliant on helpful club members?

Re: Sport badge
My badge was gold /black. I got the brightest gold I could find but it is noti a patch on an original. Good enough for me though. I have seen better chrome paints but VERY expensive, e.g. EasyChrome or https://www.stardustcolors.co.uk/chrome-paint/1229-brush-on-chrome-chrome-paint-using-brush-370073...

I get my belts from

I have two bikes, on B and one C, the latter can be noisy ( if too tight) so a bit of pot luck.

Re: another new Sport owner 76 or 77?
Good to see this, I had forgotten about Barleycorn. Any issues with switchgear looms? I am not creaking yet but the road surfaces are and leaning forward is not ideal.

Re: Convert choke to bar mount lever
Blessed as I am with both types of choke I find I start either bike from cold but quickly close them and set off.On my Sport I only flip one choke lever. On the cable choke again its only for cold start. Either way it’s only for no more than 20 seconds at the most. Gentle riding until warm though. M...

Re: Starter motor chain snapped
My K1 was harder to start on the kickstart initially. I measured the ignition coil resistance at 175 ohms. After it was rewound the bike starts easily by kick and starter motor.
I am overdue a cambelt change so will examine my chain.

Re: Starter motor chain snapped
I replaced my chain about 14 years ago. It was worn. I wonder if the chain snapped breaking the teeth of could a tooth have broken first? Either way it is a bit of a tricky situation.

Re: Leaking Clutch Oil Seal
A cut down white nozzle from a mastic tube makes excellent sleeving for seal protection, in this instance the camshaft and mainshaft for almost zero cost and are resusable.

Re: Tank badges
Dental floss can work to get behind the badges but it depends how they are attached. Mine are glued on as the original pins are long since gone.

Re: Chain slider
Measuring my old ( original? ) existing slider which is now grooved on its upper surface I got a width of 25mm except for the front mounting bosses which are 36mm across. I do not know if this matches the green one. I found this added fiddle time making one by hand. To keep cost down the CNC chap su...

Chain slider
I recently acquired a block of ultra high molecular weight polyethylene ( PE1000 is a similar material) with a view to making a chain slider. Nothing so elegant as a hacksaw, surform file and an M6 drill bit available. Ugly but functional, bit like me I suppose. After about 850 miles ( some in 35oC a...
