Hi, The brake only has the pistons on one side and the caliper slides when the pad on the pistons side contacts the disc to pull the other pad to the disc. Check that the caliper has not seized on the pins. Copper grease is good (IMHO, but I'm sure some engineering degreed people would disagree). I ...

The Morini is a bit sick so took the Honda instead. A nice sunny day with a run from Alnwick to Carter Bar with my son on the pillion. Arrived at Carter Bar just after noon and the weather was glorious. Views across southern Scotland and northern Englan for miles, and even the sheep wanted to make f...

My 350 uses a standard exhaust gasket. The front one used to come loose but the addition of wire wrapped around one of the teeth on the nut and the frame has stopped that now!

Mike.

Hi, It only doesn't work in a 1,000 rpm band. It is running rich. Probably not related. If I can get that sorted I will be happy. I will be trying the standard airbox too. I had this problem on an earlier Sport where somebody had fitted a 2-1 and decided to jet up. It needed jetting down! It then pu...

<100 Main jets for VHBZ25 carbs - wanted.

Hi,

I have some spare jets (108 and 115). Anybody got anything around 96 (or smaller) for a swap?

thanks,

regards,

Mike.

Hi Mark, I am running RamAir filters with 100 MainJets and it is still running rich (pipe is sooty). With 108s it would not rev above 4500. There is a terrible hole from about 3500 to 4500, although it pulls well from small throttle openings and revs to the red line. I am going to try a standard air...

Hi Paul, Thanks for the info. I have decided to keep the old Morini and will look elsewhere for a Beemer replacement. I have heard horror stories of the newer BMWs not being up to standard, so will be looking to the East. It is a shame that Morini have designed what looks like a good quality product...

Hi Chris,

Doing a bit of CSE Maths a 91/2 / Sport should go 180 miles ((21/17)*120+30) assuming same consumption as the Corsaro.

Thanks for the info.

Regards,

Mike.

Hi Paul, A check would be good, thanks. The range is the only thing stopping me at present. It would not be so important if I had the bike solely for thrashes around the Dales, but I also use it to go 'down souf' for work so early starts are called for. I like my bed, so I would object to getting up...

Hi, The original question included a request for tank range. It would appear that it is too embarrasing to quote a full to empty range! :? 21 litres - 180 miles with a little to spare would be good advice that would make me consider a purchase. I take it as a given that the bike is fun. I do not wan...

Hello everybody, Thanks for the responses. The 'reliability' question hasn't been raised so assume these motors are bulletproof like the old 31/2 - rev the nuts off the thing and change the oil regularly! Would be interested in the tank mileage, I get about 170 before the fuel light comes on with an...

Reliability, Suitability?

Hi, I have a 20 year old Beemer that is just fantastic for reliabilty, part quality, comfort and economy but would like something more modern that goes around corners and is excellent on motorways. A 200 mile (320km) range is also required as I hate having to stop when doing long journeys. I have be...

Hi, Thanks for the rapid responses. This is a good forum, enjoying the Gran Passo and Corsaro posts at the moment. I think I can live without the fuel warning light and the oil level light. Would like to get the oil temp. gauge working though. I have had a look on t'internet and seen a few promising...

Hi, Am in the North Yorkshire not far from A1. I am busy the weekend of the 14th, which is a shame as a nice ride to Edinburgh would have gone down a treat. If anybody is passing in a van and wants to pick it up, quite welcome to borrow it, just remember to give it back again! :D thanks, regards, Mi...
