Re: Doubt about red wire coming out of the alternator

I think it's like this... Imagine two sets of alternator windings. Both have red wire on the top and yellow wire on the bottom. Generating electricity separately. The regulator rectifier unit is in the "yellow side" of the circuit to make DC for the battery and other DC circuits on the bik...

Re: Twin Disc Master Cylinder

Just a word of caution that manufacturers often quote a master cylinder's diameter, but in reality the actual diameter can be a lot different. Don't believe the size until you've measured it :-)

Re: electronic rev counter 350 Sport...

Mike, Someone was ahead of their time, there's definitely something like a chip in there :-) About the pulses. To get the right rpm displayed, from the available signal., it's not that simple, although we all wish it was. It's maybe not about the firing interval it's maybe something else. Heehee don...

Wanted - Side stand from 1200 Morini (Are they all the same part?)

Wanted; Side stand from 1200 Morini, one with very little wear and tear please. I think all the 1200 models might use the same part?
Correct me if you know better.

Re: electronic rev counter 350 Sport...

Just a thought. The model of electronic tacho on Morinis are very specific to Morinis because of the firing interval, if yours is totally wrecked it may be best /easiest to have it professionally repaired. Other people have had top quality service from professional repairers such as Peter Bond ( gua...

Re: Ignition fault

Don't throw it away though. In the extreme they can be de-potted and rebuilt. Possibly not economic for everyone, but if you throw away a broken one then nobody's ever going to repair it.

Tail Tidy?

Has anyone made, bought or seen a "tail tidy" for any of the 1200 Morinis, to make the back of the bike look a bit more normal than the swingarm mounted number plate and indicators ?

I've seen many a mashed up spacer!
Just so the spacer is held in alignment with the bearings when you go to push the spindle through. Nice touch for whenever the wheel is put on /taken off :-)

Re: 375 liner enough meat?

Usual for the 64mm bore to leave pretty much a knife edge at the bottom of the liner, in my experience anyway.
Edit; Just remembered my 370cc cylinders are bored out from something like a 250 2c, which would explain why the liners are like a knife edge.

Re: Sugar cube fuel tap for 3.5

Apologies if you already decided against, but a popular option is to replace it with a manual tap from a V50 Guzzi and gain the advantages, or even to do both taps like this.

Re: Throttle twist repairs?

I have repaired one using an Allen bolt as the stop. Used a nut to lock it to the casing. Worked well. Ditto for our 3 1/2's. We just drilled through from the front of the bike and put an M5 allen screw in from the outside and a nut on the inside. Washers maybe also. Positioned the hole so the part...

Re: FRONT BRAKE Update

Be a little cautious with the diameters claimed by manufacturers. Master cylinders are often actually a very different diameter to the claimed size. Also (a lesser importance) the real effective diameter of a piston is different depending on whether the pressure seal is mounted on the piston, or mou...
