Got it.
I just need to find a working solenoid fuel tap, mine is knackered. I know they can restrict fuel flow but the clunk when you switch on is all part of the experience.

Ignition light
Should the ignition light stay on? I'm putting a 76 Strada back together and the ignition light is permanently on when the engine is running. I've checked out the wiring diagram and this looks correct as it shares a feed with the fuel tap. Just doesn't seem right.

Re: seal size
Thanks Paul I appreciate your help.
Good advice regarding vernier etc, the difference between applying some skill and knowledge rather than just swapping parts.

seal size
Hi, I've removed the lip seal that goes between the crankshaft and oil gallery in the engine casing but it's in such a state that I can't read the size, anyone know what I should be shopping for? Also I've removed the cam shaft seal from the same casing. This shows 1326/5. I'm assuming this translat...

Re: fitting exhaust
OK, I've sorted it, although won't be completely sure until the engine is running. I used the larger collets / split rings and cleaned the threads and gave it another go. I was surprised just how tight the castle nuts need to be, no wonder they get chewed up.

fitting exhaust
I'm trying to fit early downpipes (with the recess) to a late engine (from an x1) that originally had the non-recessed down pipes. I've bought new castleated nuts and gaskets and have a assortment of collets. There are 2 type of collet, long and short. I'm pretty certain that the longer collets go w...

I Agree start at 3750. I advertised the last bike I sold in Classic Motorcycle Mechanics. It's free and the phone didn't stop ringing.

clutch push rod
Hi folks,
I'm putting my strada back together and have been let down by my lack of photos and notes yet again!
Can anyone confirm that the clutch pushrod parts are in the correct order in the photo?
Thanks
Bob

Re: exhaust headers / downpipes
Yes thanks, in the picture now, either buy the cheaper early headers and the find some collets to fit or use the collets I have with more expensive downpipes. Then hope that it fits! I do want to use Armours (early down pipes) as they are local so no delivery charges and a fair bit cheaper but not s...

Re: exhaust headers / downpipes
Thanks Guys, so if I go for the earlier downpipes I'll need different collets. Quality of fit sounds like pot luck!
