Sorry John,
Just read the thread more thoroughly and realized that you already know the NLM ally things are not up to the job.

Re: Coguaro Electric Start
John,
Just a word of warning, I have seen a case (in fact I bought the bike) where NLM's ally pieces, as you describe them. were fitted and had failed badly, wrecking the engine in the process. Be very careful!!

Tom,
What gearing did you run your 400cc bike on? I have similar, but it feels like it would pull more than the standard 14/38 gearing.

Me again, I can tell you that the Start Gomma rubbers are in a different league as far as quality is concerned, much more substantial.

Re: 350 Excalibur
Julian, I bought the New York with a seized engine from the forum, it turned out that the previous owner had replaced the rubber cush drive in the starter motor with a machined aluminimum block which broke up. I figured that I probably had nearly enough bits on the shelf to repair it, and if I did n...

Re: 350 Excalibur
Julian,
I have a 501 new york, the engine is currently being rebuilt by Benjy, whan I get it back it could well be for sale.
I seem to have a problem with buying bikes that I have no room for, or time to ride.
Pete

Re: Morini Riders Club- Cadwell 2020
Tom, Do you know if last years riders will receive an email as previous years, or if they will need to come here to access the form? Just that a few non Morini friends that have done it for a few years now would never come to the MRC site normally, do I need to tip them off or will they get an invit...

Re: Veglia speedo repair
My experience of Speedy cables was bloody awful, despite detailed instructions as to what I wanted doing, it took three attempts to get it right, each time with postage paid by me, and over six months to get a simple job right. They just ignored the list I sent them.

Not my experience of Speedy Cables I'm afraid, lets just say that I won't be going back, not a good experience.

Re: 501 excalibur
I had one briefly, the first time my wife saw it, she said, "it looks like it was made by a drunk bloke from old car parts" couldn't have put it better myself.
However I have now got a New York, which is when he had started to sober up a little bit, not much mind.

Good idea, just don't bother with cheap ones, they will be useless, get proper Halcyon mirrors and you will get a clear view, and they won't move.

Does anybody know of a source for piston rings to suit a 350 with Nicasil bores. M'dina Italia do not have any, nor any idea where to source any.
Thanks in anticipation.
